The bible tells us in the book of Proverbs 3:5-6  to Trust in the Lord with all our heart and lean not on our own understanding. Proverbs goes on to say that in all your ways  to submit to God, and He will make our paths straight.

Who are you trusting?

Living in the world that we live in it is possible to place our trust and hope on things from this world. It may be even possible that we place our trust on people or things before God. Perhaps even trusting in our own knowledge or strength. God is telling us in this verse to trust on Him completely and not to lean on our own understanding. Gods word is far more superior than any thought, any strength, or anything at all. I encourage you today to TRUST completely on God and not on anything or anyone else.

Jeremiah‬ ‭29:11‬ tells us that God knows the plans that He has for us. He speaks to us by saying to us that he has plans to prosper us and not to harm ‭‬‬us. God completes this verse by promising good plans to give us hope and a good future.

I’m reminded when Paul and Silas were put in the deepest part of the prison for setting free a young girl that told the future. Around the midnight hour Paul and Silas began to pray and sing hymns to God. All the prisoners were listening to them. Suddenly, there was a massive earthquake, and the prison was shaken to its foundations. All the doors immediately flew open, and the chains of every prisoner fell off!

When put in that prison, Paul and Silas could have easily reacted in fear, disbelief, anger, discouragement and so many other ways but instead they began to sing hymns and pray. Their prayers and worship to our Lord caused that place to shake and break open. There was even salvation of a prison guard and his family that day.

We can see that our brothers Paul and Silas trusted in the Lord with all their heart and did not lean on their own understanding. Another outcome would have taken place have they not trusted wholeheartedly on God.

Our Lord promises us in Jeremiah‬ ‭17:7-8‬ ‭that blessed is the one who trusts in Him. Blessed is the one whose confidence is in Him. He compares us to be like a tree that is planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. That tree does not fear when heat comes. The leaves of that tree are always green. That tree has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit. We can clearly see that by trusting in God we have nothing to worry about, neither today or in the future, for He is always in complete control.

Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God. – Psalms 20:7
